Monster Island, the Asylum's 2019 mockbuster, was released around the same time as Godzilla: King of the Monsters. The film tells the story of an island named after the island, where a monster lives.


Due to the film's low budget Monster Island Asylum (equivalent to a large family meal), the filmmakers decided to focus only on a small number of people and to shoot most of the scenes involving the cast's A listers during lunch. The Asylum will probably do well considering that this is a movie about kaiju, which is basically how it goes.
